Woman seriously injured in cutter-knife attack in Wendlingen
A woman was seriously injured in a suspected cutter-knife attack in Wendlingen and required emergency surgery. According to the investigation so far, her 44-year-old former husband allegedly attacked her without warning in her apartment shortly before 7:30 p.m. on 24 September 2026. Emergency workers treated her and took her to hospital; she was not believed to be in danger of dying. Witnesses called police, who provisionally detained the man at the scene without resistance and seized the suspected weapon. He was remanded in custody the next day on strong suspicion of attempted homicide. Investigators are still examining the motive and precise sequence of events.
