Two suspects remanded after robbery-related assault in Ulm

A 36-year-old man was seriously injured during a robbery-related assault in a flat on Staufenring in Ulm on 9 March. Investigators said several unknown attackers struck him, including with a baton. A knife was also reportedly used. The attackers fled the flat, and the injured man was treated in hospital before later being discharged.

Investigators said they subsequently identified two of the previously unknown attackers. The two 29-year-old suspects were arrested between 20 and 26 March. After appearances before a judge, warrants were executed on suspicion of attempted particularly serious robbery and extortion. Both are in pre-trial detention and the investigation remains ongoing.
