Man arrested after knife attack on acquaintance in Trier
A 26-year-old man is suspected of stabbing a 27-year-old acquaintance twice in the neck with a folding knife at the acquaintance's home in Trier. The attack took place at about 00:10 on 7 April after the man had knocked at the door and been let inside. The victim sustained life-threatening stab injuries, was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition, according to police.
The suspect initially fled. Following a search, police arrested him later that morning as he returned to his car in Trier-Süd. He was brought before an investigating judge on suspicion of attempted homicide and was then taken to a correctional facility. Criminal police investigations are ongoing.
