Security employee threatened with knife in Sondershausen

At a supermarket in the Schlossberggalerie shopping centre in Sondershausen, a 42-year-old customer allegedly drew a knife and threatened a security employee following an argument. Police said he then turned the knife on himself and threatened suicide. The shop was evacuated, while police said the remaining customers had not faced a concrete danger. Officers overpowered and restrained the man, who was subsequently taken to a specialist clinic. Police are investigating several alleged offences.
