Man threatened discount-store staff in Rosengarten with knife

A 71-year-old man allegedly bumped customers with a shopping cart and insulted other customers at a discount store in Rosengarten-Nenndorf at about 7:15 a.m. on 24 January. When employees confronted him, he allegedly made racist insults toward some of them and threatened them with a knife about 12 centimetres long. He then left in his car. Police later found him in the parked vehicle, took him into custody and seized the knife. Following a medical assessment, the district ordered his involuntary placement in a psychiatric clinic; investigations were opened on suspicion of insult and threats.
