Man threatens hospital staff in Nordhausen with machete
Police were called to the main entrance of Südharz Hospital in Nordhausen early on 14 May. Outside the building, a 24-year-old man was wielding a machete. Hospital staff noticed him in time and did not open the entrance. Officers disarmed the man, who was then admitted to a psychiatric ward after indications of an acute mental health crisis. Police are investigating on suspicion of making threats. Before going to the hospital, the man had jumped from a window of his home and damaged a parked car.
