Man threatens woman with knife in Munich apartment

An argument between a 46-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman is alleged to have escalated in his apartment on Hohenzollernstraße in Munich after they had dinner together. According to the investigation so far, at around 2 a.m. on 13 January, the man threatened to kill the woman using an object resembling a pistol and a knife. He is also alleged to have repeatedly struck her in the face and damaged two mobile phones and a laptop.

The woman escaped from the apartment and called police. Officers, including a special police unit, later found the man inside. The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. During a court-ordered search, police seized weapons and knives; the man is being investigated on suspicion of, among other offences, making threats and dangerous bodily harm.
