Man threatens passers-by with kitchen knife in Lüneburg

A 27-year-old man allegedly punctured several car tyres and kicked advertising signs in Lüneburg on 24 February. When passers-by addressed him, he threatened them by displaying a kitchen knife, police said. Emergency personnel restrained the man at about 4 p.m. on Papenstraße. No one was injured; he was admitted to a psychiatric clinic, and police initiated criminal proceedings.
