Armed suspected robber arrested in Cologne
A 36-year-old man allegedly pressured a cashier at a supermarket on Olpener Straße in Cologne with a demand for money and a threat to injure her on Friday evening. Police said he was armed with a knife. When the cashier opened the till, he reached inside and fled with a four-figure sum of cash. A 21-year-old store detective followed him on a rental bicycle and held him on Münchener Straße until police arrived. Officers arrested the man and seized a kitchen knife and the suspected proceeds. A judge ordered pre-trial detention.
