Man allegedly used knife to threaten two children while demanding money in Hof
In a swimming-pool car park at Oberer Anger in Hof, a 19-year-old man allegedly demanded cash from two brothers on 4 October 2026 at around 17:45 and told them to turn out their pockets. He obtained one boy’s phone and allegedly drew a knife from a sheath to reinforce his demands. He then rode away on one child’s mountain bike. Their father located the phone; police arrested the suspect shortly afterwards near Landwehrstraße and recovered the phone, bicycle and cash. According to police, the man was under the influence of alcohol and THC. He is under investigation on suspicion of extortion involving robbery.
