Man attacked with knife at Langenhorner Markt
A 38-year-old man was attacked with a knife and injured on the head, among other places, at Langenhorner Markt in Hamburg on the evening of 27 October 2026. Police said the 48-year-old attacker also threatened to kill him during the confrontation. When passers-by intervened, the attacker broke off and fled towards the underground station. An ambulance took the injured man to hospital; his life was not in danger. The suspect was vaguely acquainted with him through the 38-year-old's work as a store detective. Police detained the suspect in Langenhorn the following afternoon. The homicide unit is investigating an attempted killing; another bound report says the suspect was placed in pre-trial detention.
