Man threatens passengers with pocketknife on Hamburg suburban train

A 56-year-old man is alleged to have opened a pocketknife on an S2 suburban train between Hamburg-Altona and Reeperbahn station on 29 November 2025. According to witnesses, he made cutting and stabbing motions in the air near passengers. A couple travelling together felt threatened by his conduct. Security staff held the man on the Reeperbahn platform until federal police arrived. Officers secured a pocketknife and opened an investigation on suspicion of making threats; the man was released after police measures were completed.
