Armed man approaches police in Gundelfingen
A 28-year-old man was seriously injured by a police gunshot during an operation at an apartment building in Gundelfingen on 5 December. Officers had been called at around 8:40 a.m. because the man was allegedly causing a disturbance in the building. When the patrol arrived, he was outside armed with two knives and moved toward the officers. After he did not drop the knives despite repeated orders and a warning that firearms might be used, an officer fired at him. He was injured in the shoulder and taken to hospital; the State Criminal Police Office is investigating the use of the firearm.
