Man remanded in custody after stabbing at Gießen riverbank

A 23-year-old man suffered serious but non-life-threatening knife injuries during a fight at the Gießen riverbank on Wednesday. Police and prosecutors said one of the two men drew a knife during the altercation and stabbed toward the other man's head. Officers arrested the suspected attacker, a 27-year-old man, at the scene and recovered a knife. The injured man and the suspected attacker, who had sustained facial injuries, were taken to hospital. A judge ordered the suspect held in pre-trial detention. The circumstances remain unclear, and police are seeking additional witnesses and possible video recordings.
