Two inspectors injured in knife attack in Gelsenkirchen
Two food inspectors were injured on Wednesday morning during an inspection of an ice-cream van on a rear courtyard on Grabbestraße in Gelsenkirchen-Horst. According to the investigation at the time, a dispute arose with the business owner during the inspection; he is alleged to have drawn a knife and injured the women. One woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries but was not in life-threatening danger, while the other suffered minor injuries and called police. Officers arrested the suspect and secured the knife. A homicide unit is investigating suspected attempted homicide.
