Man seriously injured in knife attack in Gelsenkirchen
A 38-year-old man was seriously injured by a knife stab during an altercation in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. Emergency personnel took him to hospital.
Earlier, at about 2:35 a.m. on Hochstraße, a 20-year-old man had argued with an unidentified man and was threatened with a knife. Other people initially pulled the unidentified man away, but he then attacked the 38-year-old at the entrance to the pedestrian area. Another unidentified man in the group fired several shots from a blank-firing pistol. Neither man had been detained; police are investigating and seeking witnesses.
