Man threatens woman with kitchen knife in Gifhorn
An estranged married couple met by chance near a playground on Daimlerstraße in Gifhorn on Friday afternoon and became involved in an argument. The 38-year-old man is alleged to have drawn a kitchen knife and threatened the 35-year-old woman. Her child stood protectively in front of her, and witnesses called police. The man later inflicted injuries on himself and left the area. Officers found him nearby, secured the knife and took him to hospital for medical treatment. Proceedings for making threats were initiated against him.
