Man taken into custody after stabbing in Gelsenkirchen
A 39-year-old man was seriously injured by a knife stab during an argument on Cranger Straße in Gelsenkirchen on the evening of 22 September. Before the stabbing, he and a 41-year-old man had been involved in a loud dispute, punches and a physical struggle, during which both fell to the ground. An off-duty police officer and other bystanders separated the men. The alleged attacker initially left but was taken into custody by police near a supermarket. The injured man was taken to hospital and, according to police, is not in danger of death. The investigation is ongoing.
