Woman attacked with knife at Frankfurt's Eiserner Steg

On Sunday, 19 July, a 70-year-old woman is alleged to have attacked a 37-year-old woman with a knife on the Mainkai near Frankfurt's Eiserner Steg. The victim suffered superficial cuts to her neck and face, while a 33-year-old witness injured his finger while intervening. A companion and the witness restrained the alleged attacker until police arrived and arrested her.

Police said the woman's 47-year-old son is suspected of preparing and coordinating the attack. Pre-trial detention was ordered for both suspects on suspicion of jointly attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm. The man was arrested later in Mörfelden-Walldorf; the investigation is ongoing.
