Two men threaten petrol station employee in Essen with knife
Two unidentified men robbed a petrol station on Grenoblestraße in Essen on 4 December. They threatened a 59-year-old employee with a knife and a firearm and ordered her to open the cash register and safe. One of the men fired several shots into the air. The employee opened the register, from which the men took cash, while the safe remained closed. They also took hold of her handbag and fled on foot. Police launched an initial search without success and secured evidence; cartridge cases found at the scene indicate that a blank-firing pistol was used.
