Man seriously injured after altercation in Krefeld city park
An 18-year-old man was seriously injured during a physical confrontation between two groups of young men in the city park at Nordwall in Krefeld on 4 December. Those involved are said to have used striking and stabbing weapons. Police say it remains unclear what caused the man's cut injuries. He fled to the nearby courthouse on Nordwall, where officers found him after being alerted by witnesses. An ambulance took him to hospital, and police currently rule out a threat to his life. Officers recovered a knife and two batons nearby, established a homicide unit and launched a search for further participants.
