Man remanded in custody after suspected stabbing in Duisburg
A 51-year-old man suffered a life-threatening injury in Duisburg-Meiderich on 1 February at about 15:10, which police said appeared to be a stab wound. A 22-year-old provided first aid until emergency services took the seriously injured man to hospital. Two witnesses pursued a 37-year-old man, who was then arrested by police; officers secured a suspected weapon during the search. Duisburg Local Court issued a warrant for his remand in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. Investigators are continuing to examine the background to the incident.
