Petrol station robbery with kitchen knife in Düsseldorf

During a robbery at a petrol station in Düsseldorf, a 37-year-old man threatened an employee with a kitchen knife at around 12:30 p.m. on 26 April and demanded cash from the register. He fled with a mid-three-figure sum but was found by police within minutes during the search. When he moved towards officers with a drawn knife, they deployed a DEIG after warning him. Officers disarmed and arrested him; two blood samples were taken because he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He was due to be brought before an investigating judge later that day.
