Knife stabbing at football match in Detmold
An argument over an alleged foul at the TuS Eichholz-Remmighausen football ground in Detmold escalated on 23 February between a spectator and a player. Police said the 27-year-old spectator struck the 33-year-old player and then stabbed him in the upper arm with a knife. The injured player received outpatient hospital treatment and his injury was not life-threatening. A witness stopped the fleeing suspect, who was provisionally detained. A judge later found no grounds for detention.
