Man threatens passers-by with knife in Bremen

According to witnesses, a man allegedly threatened passers-by with a knife in Bremen-Schwachhausen on Wednesday morning. A couple with a pushchair had previously been reported asking passers-by for money, and the man was said to have acted aggressively. When officers arrived, he was holding a knife to his neck while carrying a small child. Specialist officers secured the man and child at about 11:05 a.m. Both were uninjured, and the child was taken to hospital as a precaution. The man and woman were taken to a police station for identification checks. Investigators are still examining the circumstances, and the man is also to undergo a psychiatric assessment.
