Man subdued after alleged machete threats in Blankenheim
A 25-year-old man is alleged to have threatened children and residents in a district of Blankenheim on 20 September, announcing that he would attack them with a machete. By the time police arrived, he had retreated into a detached house, while officers secured a machete from the front garden. After attempts to contact him failed, specialist police units subdued him that evening. He was taken to hospital, and criminal investigators are examining the circumstances.
