Man confronts police with machete in Billerbeck
A 26-year-old man in Billerbeck had allegedly expressed suicidal intentions to a witness before police responded. During the operation, he confronted officers while armed with a machete and a long gun. An exchange of gunfire followed, and officers seriously but not life-threateningly injured him. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, while no officers were injured. Bielefeld police are investigating the police shooting.
