Folding knife held to delivery worker’s neck in Berlin robbery
Police are investigating a suspected armed group extortion after an attack on a 26-year-old food delivery worker in Berlin-Neukölln. He was cycling along Saalestraße after work at around 7:50 p.m. when five teenagers and young adults allegedly blocked his way at Unstrutstraße and asked whether he had drugs or food. After he identified himself as a delivery worker, a folding knife was held to his neck. The group allegedly searched him, took his phone and used his account to book a ride. Four got into the vehicle and returned the phone; police stopped the car and detained all four, including an 18-year-old, a 19-year-old and two minors. All four were later released. The fifth participant, who allegedly had the knife, was not found, and the ride was cancelled. Police seized a pepper-spray device from one of the minors.
