Employee arrested after knife attack at Charlottenburg restaurant

During an altercation between two employees of a restaurant in Charlottenburg, a 34-year-old man is alleged to have struck his 32-year-old colleague several times with a kitchen knife. The 32-year-old sustained two non-life-threatening cuts to his neck and shoulder and received initial treatment before being taken to hospital for outpatient care.

Earlier, at about 1:30 p.m., the 32-year-old had picked up a work knife after an argument in the restaurant kitchen and approached his colleague without injuring him with it. Another employee separated the men and took the knife away. The confrontation then continued on the pavement outside the restaurant. The 34-year-old fled before police officers arrested him at Sophie-Charlotte-Platz underground station. Criminal police are investigating the background to the incident.
