Man threatens passers-by with knife and demands money in Augsburg
Several passers-by were threatened with a knife at about 9 p.m. on 20 October 2026 on Amagasaki-Allee in Augsburg's Lechhausen district. A 25-year-old man allegedly held the knife in front of them and demanded cash and cigarettes, among other things. He initially fled but was arrested during the subsequent search. No one had been injured according to the information available at the time. Criminal police are investigating suspected aggravated extortion involving robbery, are seeking witnesses and said the suspect would be brought before a judge on 21 October.
