Man allegedly threatened passers-by at Ahlen station square
Witnesses called police to the station square in Ahlen at about 2:20 p.m. on 2 February after a 35-year-old man allegedly threatened passers-by with a kitchen knife. No knife was initially visible when officers arrived. The man said he had been intoxicated and threatened himself; according to police, a voluntary breath test confirmed substantial intoxication. He is also alleged to have stabbed a advertising column beforehand, causing minor damage. Police took him into custody to prevent further offences, found a hunting knife in his bag and opened an investigation.
