Man threatens police officers with machete in Zwickau
Following reports of repeated late-night noise disturbance at an apartment building on Breithauptstraße in Zwickau, a 56-year-old man allegedly threatened police officers with a machete. Police said he barricaded himself in his flat after officers spoke to him and announced that he would attack them if they entered. Five residents were evacuated while police cordoned off the area. A special police unit forced open the apartment door at about 8 a.m. and took the man into custody. No one was injured, and the road closures were lifted at about 8:30 a.m.
