Two men injured in suspected attempted robbery in Idar-Oberstein
Three unidentified men are alleged to have tried to rob a 19-year-old man of drugs he had offered for sale during a meeting near the Röhrenkump bus stop in Idar-Oberstein on Monday evening. Police said they repeatedly stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife, seriously injuring him. His 20-year-old companion was allegedly lightly injured with a baton. The seriously injured man underwent emergency surgery and was subsequently reported to be out of danger. The three suspects fled in a dark compact car, and prosecutors classify the attack against the 19-year-old as attempted homicide.
