Cyclist threatens man in Zülpich with kitchen knife
A 49-year-old cyclist is alleged to have threatened a man in Zülpich on 26 May with a kitchen knife he was carrying, as well as verbally. Earlier, according to police, the man had fallen on Römerallee and continued cycling; another road user avoided a collision by braking and swerving.
After several emergency calls, police officers located and restrained the suspect. During the restraint and later at a psychiatric facility, he is alleged to have resisted the measures for hours, spat at officers and kicked towards them. The man was provisionally detained, and criminal police are investigating.
