65-year-old woman attacks police with knife in Zülpich
After an emergency call about a woman causing a disturbance in an apartment building in Zülpich, a 65-year-old woman attacked responding police officers with a knife during the night of 1 May. The officers were not injured.
Additional officers, including specialist units, were called in and eventually subdued the woman unharmed in her apartment. According to initial findings, she was in a mental health crisis and was taken to hospital by ambulance personnel. Bachstraße and nearby roads were temporarily closed during the operation, and police are investigating the circumstances.
