Several youths injured in altercation in Wuppertal
Several youths were injured in an altercation between two groups in Wuppertal. Police said the dispute had begun verbally on the suspension railway on the evening of 8 February. After the groups left the train at Wupperfelder Markt station, participants assaulted one another; a knife, wooden slats and a belt were among the items used. Three youths were taken to hospital, and two were later released after outpatient treatment. Police said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Criminal investigators are examining whether earlier disputes were a possible background.
