Knife attack thwarted at Wolnzach accommodation
At asylum-seeker accommodation in Wolnzach, a 29-year-old man allegedly attacked a 49-year-old fellow resident with a knife on 24 June. The victim initially evaded the attack and fled to another resident. When the suspect followed him and made further thrusting movements, the 49-year-old fended off that attack as well and was not injured. Witnesses and the victim overpowered the suspect and held him until police arrived. The suspect sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment. Criminal police are investigating on suspicion of attempted homicide, and prosecutors applied for an arrest warrant.
