Man injures companion with knife in Wolfsburg

A 40-year-old man allegedly lightly injured a 41-year-old man with a knife in central Wolfsburg at around 23:03 on 13 September. He had previously been at a pub and, because he was heavily intoxicated, two men aged 41 and 57 had intended to take him home. Police said that he pulled out a knife and handled it on the way; the 41-year-old sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

During the subsequent detention on Seilerstraße, the 40-year-old allegedly resisted and struck at attending officers. A 22-year-old police officer was lightly injured. Prosecutors ordered a blood sample, and the man remained in custody until Sunday. Police opened proceedings for dangerous bodily harm and assault on an officer.
