Man allegedly threatens wife with knife in Wolfertschwenden

In Wolfertschwenden, a 34-year-old man is alleged to have threatened his 43-year-old wife with a knife in her car. On 18 May, the woman stopped the vehicle on Bahnhofstraße and called for help. Three bystanders came to her aid and restrained the suspect while he was still inside the vehicle.

Police said the man had previously entered the car using a duplicate key. A protection order barred him from contacting his wife, and there had reportedly been earlier incidents of domestic violence. He was provisionally arrested on suspicion of, among other offences, dangerous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and threats, and was brought before an investigating judge. The judge issued a detention order and the man was taken to prison.
