Shoplifter threatens detective with folding knife in Willich
A suspected shoplifter allegedly threatened a store detective with a folding knife at about 13:30 on 17 May at a grocery discount store in De-Mülder-Gasse in Willich-Anrath. The detective had confronted the man after seeing him place items in a backpack and attempt to leave the store.
The detective initially restrained the man when he tried to flee and became increasingly aggressive. He let him go after the knife threat. Police said the suspect then fled on foot and got into a small van.
