Man arrested after knife robbery in Wilhelmshaven
A 50-year-old man is accused of threatening an employee at a supermarket on Posener Straße in Wilhelmshaven with a kitchen knife at about 09:33 on 9 August. According to police, he held the knife, which had a blade about 15 centimetres long, in front of her and demanded that the cash drawer be opened. He then allegedly took about 800 euros from the till himself. The man left the store on foot but was provisionally arrested nearby after a search. Police said he had both the knife and the cash with him; he was brought before a judge and was to be taken to a correctional facility.
