Employee injured with knife during robbery in Weißenfels

Two masked offenders allegedly robbed a shopping market in the Leißling district of Weißenfels shortly before closing time. They threatened employees present with a knife and took a high three-figure sum of cash. A 31-year-old employee was lightly injured, received medical treatment and was taken to hospital for further care. The offenders initially fled in a car, which police stopped near Schönburg. A 45-year-old woman and two men aged 21 and 23 were found in the vehicle and provisionally detained; they were due to be brought before a judge. Criminal police are also examining whether the case is linked to robberies in preceding months.
