Man threatens people outside Viersen café with utility knife

A 64-year-old man is alleged to have tried to sell cocaine at a café on Hauptstraße in Viersen on the evening of 30 September. After the café owner told him to leave, a verbal dispute developed outside with the owner and further witnesses. During the confrontation, police said the man drew a utility knife and threatened those present.

Police provisionally detained the suspect shortly afterwards. A search found cocaine, cash in small denominations and the utility knife. Following consultation with prosecutors, the man was released, and the investigation is ongoing.
