Two men seriously injured in knife attack in Velbert
Two men were seriously injured with a knife during a physical altercation in an apartment in Velbert's Kostenberg district early on 9 July. Both sustained stab and cut injuries, but police said their injuries were not life-threatening; they were taken to hospitals by ambulance. A 22-year-old woman had called police after her former partner allegedly caused a disturbance outside her apartment and tried to force his way in. An altercation then took place inside between him and the woman's new partner. Police secured the knife, while the exact sequence of events remains under investigation.
