Man remanded after knife injury in Vaihingen an der Enz

In Ziegelgartenstraße in Vaihingen an der Enz, a 65-year-old man allegedly injured a 20-year-old man in the chest with a knife during a physical altercation on 22 May. The incident followed disputes involving the 20-year-old, his 18-year-old girlfriend and his 60-year-old mother. When the mother tried to intervene, an argument first developed between her and her son, after which the 20-year-old and the 65-year-old became involved in a confrontation. The 20-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the 65-year-old sustained minor injuries. Police provisionally arrested the 65-year-old. A remand order was issued against him on suspicion of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm; inquiries continue.
