Man remanded after knife attack at Tübingen accommodation

A 25-year-old man was allegedly attacked with a knife and critically injured by a 41-year-old man at accommodation for refugees in Tübingen on 28 March. The injured man was found outside the building, taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

He initially told police and emergency personnel that he had inflicted the stab wound on himself. On 8 April, however, he told police that an acquaintance had suddenly attacked him with a knife in the shared kitchen. The 41-year-old was arrested after searches, and a judge ordered him remanded in custody. Investigations into the background and the exact sequence of events are ongoing.
