Knife incident during dispute in Tönisvorst leaves witness slightly injured

A dispute between a 21-year-old man and a 40-year-old man occurred at a birthday celebration in accommodation for seasonal workers in Tönisvorst on the evening of Saturday, 27 June 2026. According to police, the younger man initially left after a verbal argument but later returned as the 40-year-old was trying to leave the accommodation. The allegedly intoxicated 21-year-old is said to have taken a knife from a bicycle bag and followed the other man. Two witnesses brought him to the ground, and one of them suffered a minor cut. The knife was later found in a field. Police took a blood sample from the 21-year-old and continue to investigate the course and background of the incident.
