Machete used in group altercation in Salzgitter
A verbal dispute between two groups escalated near Fischzug and Bocholter Straße in Salzgitter on Friday evening. According to initial investigations, two men allegedly carried a machete as well as a baseball bat or baton and used them to intimidate several people. Several participants suffered minor injuries, and one man was taken to hospital for treatment of a knee injury. Two suspects went to police later that evening and admitted carrying the objects. Police secured the suspected weapon and the striking implement and are investigating, among other matters, suspected dangerous bodily harm and threats.
