Woman threatened with knife during robbery in Staufenberg

Two men are alleged to have robbed a 67-year-old woman on 8 January after she returned from a walk to her car on a field path near Kasseler Straße in Uschlag, a district of Staufenberg. They demanded her mobile phone and car key, and a struggle followed when she resisted. During the confrontation, the offenders threatened her with a knife and a gun. The woman fell, suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The men took her phone, car key and vehicle. During the subsequent escape, shots were allegedly fired from the vehicle toward an unmarked police car; the weapon was later found to be a blank-firing gun. Following a pursuit, the car became stuck on a closed forest and connecting road. The two suspects, aged 19 and 22, were provisionally detained, and the knife and blank-firing gun were seized. Pre-trial detention was ordered for the 22-year-old, while the 19-year-old was placed in a secure psychiatric facility.
