Man provisionally detained after serious injury in Sömmerda
A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an argument in an apartment on Kölledaer Straße in Sömmerda. Police said that his 44-year-old opponent allegedly injured him, possibly with a knife, on the evening of 7 April.
The suspect then left the scene but was provisionally detained after a brief search. Officers found and seized a loaded blank-firing pistol and several knives while searching his backpack. Criminal police are investigating suspected dangerous bodily harm and an alleged violation of weapons law; the man was due to be brought before a remand judge later that day.
